Heaven! Chocolate cake with homemade ice cream. Heaven!

Method:
Chocolate Cake
- Melt chocolate, butter, and milk in a bowl on a pan of simmering water.
- Mix sugar and eggs with an electric mixer until pale and thick. Gently fold in the chocolate mixture. Mix flour and cocoa into the batter.
- Pour the mixture into a 23cm buttered cake pan with sides and a base that has been lined. Bake at 160degC for 45-50 minutes or until skewer tests show it is cooked.
- After 5 minutes, turn the pan upside down and let it cool for another 5 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack. Use a serrated blade to cut the cake in half. Refrigerate until chilled.
Hot Chocolate Sauce
- Heat the creme fraiche until it is just simmering. Remove from heat, and add extra chocolate. Stir until smooth.
- Place the bottom half of the cake on a platter. Scoop ice cream over it and then sandwich it with the remaining cake.
- Serve the cake immediately with some warm sauce. Slice the cake and serve it immediately, with additional sauce.
